IT’S A NO-BRAINER, RIGHT?
Using BIM and other digital tools makes doing your job right easier in the AECO industry.
However, these digital tools are about so much more than just easing your workflow and helping you do your job – they’re a platform for collaboration, from design to delivery and ultimately maintenance.
But, and it’s a big but, we still have gaps in the AECO industry. Gaps that slow the whole process down. Gaps that jeopardise smooth, efficient collaboration for each key stakeholder throughout the construction process.
We want to help bridge these gaps.
We want things to run smoothly all the way through. Because, as Bruce Lee famously said, “smooth is fast”.
The built environment generates nearly half of annual global CO2 emissions. There’s a lot at stake.
Design it so it’s buildable. Build it right the first time, every time – on time (and on budget). Smooth the workflow over the lifecycle of the building – save money on maintenance year after year.
When everyone is using high quality digital tools – and ensuring that the quality of data is impeccable – we can indeed do more with less.
Less time, less money, and less waste.
But how do we begin to bridge these gaps?
Best practices from industry front-runners
We’re fortunate to have some of the brightest minds in the AECO industry take part in an hour-long talk show on November 8, 2022.
We will talk about how we all should collaborate in construction to save time, save money, save resources – and do our part in helping save our planet.
We aim to provide actionable insights for you to take into your day-to-day work.
Here are our guests:
Kalle Soini, Partner, ARCO Architecture Company
Located in Pasila, a key transportational hub in Helsinki, Finland, the Tripla city center is a gigantic mixed use landmark that reshaped the surrounding area.
This three-block structure connects East and West Pasila over an old railway yard, and contains a shopping mall, offices, a hotel, a congress center, an indoor public exhibition arena and a public transport hub – all designed and built using OPEN BIM.
Kalle Soini, the Lead Architect on the project understands the value of collaboration and how modern digital tools can improve it.
Pim van Meer Redert, BIM Manager, Vorm
As a real estate developer (who also happens to build a part of their projects), it’s critical for Vorm to be able to ask their advisors and co-makers the right questions in order to ensure that each project is on the right track.
Vorm wants to translate project goals into objectively verifiable milestones to create a more fluent process for real estate design, development and construction. By visualising data, Vorm can directly steer projects towards better results and quality.
Pim is the father of Minibim, a tool that helps developers see whether project designs are feasible and what assumptions have been made in the project. With Minibim, Pim wants to increase the transparency of development and construction to get more done with less – faster.
Ville Kyytsönen, CEO, Solibri
Solibri is sometimes referred to as “the Switzerland of BIM”, so we suppose that makes Ville the Roger Federer of BIM.
When you think about it, the similarity is uncanny, really. Both are likeable, not too brash, and consummately professional.
Jokes aside, as Solibri’s CEO, Ville is leading the movement to bridge gaps between different stakeholders working in the AECO industry and helping everyone do more with less.
